Notes

Neologism based on Latin columna vertebrālis. "Columna" is a column, a supporting structure; "vertebrālis" is an adjectival form meaning "pertaining to vertebrae" formed by "vertebra" and adjectival suffix "-ālis"; and "vertebra" is a turning joint, made of the word "vertere" that means "to turn", "rotate", and the instrumental suffix "-bra". Following the same standard, Neo-Sindarin "tulu" means "support", and "perf" is derived from P.E. "kwer" and suffixes "-mā" and "-nā". It means something akin to "turnable support".
