Etymology
Root: √RAT
"to find a way"
Notes
Neologism inspired by 動脈: Mandarin dòngmài, and Japanese dōmyaku meaning "beating vessel"; Arabic عِرْق ضَارِب ʿirq ḍārib also meaning "beating vessel"; and Sanskrit धमनी (dhamanī) meaning "blowing/swelling/pulsating vessel". I used the Sindarin word for "lode", rant, restoring the old meaning for "vein", interpreted as "blood vessel", and chose the root √(N)DAM to mean "beat" as a prefix, yielding something like "beating [blood] vessel".
